Canvas is a different way of thinking, backed by a team of over 1,100 Instructure employees globally – with a shared dream of using the latest advances in technology to change the world of education for the better.

Why are we different? Instructure isn't a traditional education company; it's a technology startup with an open, progressive attitude. That means we're able to meet the demands of our customers in education, but also encourage them to adopt new ways of thinking. Our goal is to create products that make a real, tangible difference to the lives of teachers and students.

Kenny Nicholl

Director of Sales, EMEA, Australia & NZ

Kenny's unflappable positivity has fuelled his career in helping organisations adopt new technologies and develop beneficial partnerships. When it’s time to recharge, Kenny can be found listening to any of his eclectic tastes in music from Johnny Cash to Bastille, to Adam Ant to Ray LaMontagne … and then some.

Bas Ten Holter

Regional Director

Born in The Netherlands, Bas now calls Brussels home. Always on the move, he has also lived in Canada, The UK, and Spain. His past experience working with an impressive list of global tech and eLearning companies, makes Bas the perfect Euro-tech ambassador for Canvas, especially when you consider that his full given name is Johan Sebastian (after a certain German composer).

Heather Kane

Managing Director, International Markets

Heather joined Instructure in 2010 as the company’s eighth employee. Since then, she’s been the engine of the sales team, signing the first major account and sparking rapid adoption of Canvas throughout her sales territory. Heather is driven by her unwavering belief that Canvas is the best learning platform – and by massive, massive quantities of Diet Coke. Really. Our facilities team can barely keep up.

Jared Stein

VP Research and Education

A self-confessed education nerd and tech geek, Jared collaborates with educators and technologists to identify current and future challenges – and to envision ways the Canvas LMS can provide solutions.

Jaskaran Kalsi

Anyone who’s ever worked with Jas will tell you that being a perfectionist is a good thing. He began his career as a lecturer (and perfectionist) at Birmingham City University (UK) and moved on to Cisco Systems as a technical manager (and perfectionist) where he supported the Cisco Networking Academy. Now leading the Canvas solutions engineering effort for Europe, Jas is here to ensure that Canvas users throughout Europe have a near-perfect experience.
